Sue is a proud New Englander, and has a particular affinity for the seascapes and sunsets of Cape Cod. “Muddy Creek” is the section of the Bass River where Sue locates her coaching and contemplative practices.

Trained as a cultural anthropologist, Sue brings the curiosity of an explorer to her work with individuals and groups. Sue’s 15 years of living in Africa and Southeast Asia, in addition to her work in international human rights, global education, and language studies, make her a passionate advocate for diversity in all its forms.

Sue is currently the Director of Institutional Research at Buckingham, Browne & Nichols School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She previously designed and led a workplace culture initiative at Harvard University, directed Harvard’s Center for African Studies, founded and directed a research institute for the Royal Bafokeng Nation in South Africa, taught Anthropology and International Studies at Brown University and the University of Pretoria, and directed the Cambodian Genocide Program at Yale University. She has published widely on topics ranging from the politics of language to comparative genocide. She holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Yale University and a B.A. from Brown University. She is an Associate Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation.
